What is kambo?

Photography by David Clode

Kambo medicine has been used for thousands of years by indigenous Amazonian tribes to heal a vast range of illnesses; detoxify body, mind, and spirit; revitalize strength and restore whole being energy.

It is warrior medicine.
It is also heart medicine.
Kambo imparts the art of surrender…

The Next Day:

KAMBO PREPARATION

24 hours PRIOR to your session:

No meat, chicken, or fish.

No caffeine, alcohol, drugs, or other plant medicines of any kind (including cannabis and mushroom)

Eat a plant-based diet surrounding your Kambo experience. It can be helpful to start this a few days earlier and maintain it for several days after; though it is not necessary.

Additional Recommendation:

DRY BRUSH before a shower/bath can help stimulate the lymphatic system. I also recommend taking an epsom salt bath the night before as you contemplate y our intentions.

8-10 hours before:

No food. You want to come in on any empty stomach. Your session will be scheduled in the morning, so this should just be a typical night’s sleep without food.

Do not fast the day before! It’s important you come into your treatment well-nourished.

No water. You will be asked to drink 1 - 1.5 liters of water immediately prior to receiving Kambo. Please don’t drink water in the morning beyond a few sips until w meet.

24 hours AFTER your session:

Drink plenty of water.

No meat, chicken, or fish.

No caffeine, alcohol, drugs, or other plant medicines of any kind (including cannabis and mushroom).

Again, it can be nourishing to follow a plant-based diet for a couple extra days as the medicine works through you. But you are OK to begin adding chicken or light fish after the first 24 hours.

Remain conscious of what you are consuming for the next several days, including food, social media, TV, conversations, etc.

Additional Recommendation:

DRY BRUSH before showers/baths for a few days, to further facilitate the detox.

WHAT DOES KAMBO MEAN TO ME?

Kambo medicine has been used for thousands of years by indigenous Amazonian tribes to heal a vast range of illnesses; detoxify body, mind, and spirit; revitalize strength and restore whole being energy.

It is warrior medicine.

It is also heart medicine.

Kambo imparts the art of surrender…

It helps us “shut down the computer” of our thinking mind,
Allow new information-energy to update,
Rewire the 0’s and 1’s…

Kambo guides awareness outside of our current grid lines.

Widens the aperture….

So we can tell a different story. Then live by it.

In everyday life, we often block, numb or power over the heart’s tremors…

Warrior energy can too easily bypass psychological pains, impacting them deep into our tissues.
The trembles don’t feel like an emergency…
Because warriors are strong, independent, capable.
Our defenses, rock solid.
Until the fragments of ourselves are vibrating apart at the seams…
That we no longer have a choice but to listen.

Because eventually,
Every system revolts
Through injury, illness, depression, stagnation…

You might be here already,
Or you can feel the path unraveling…
You are not lost,
And you are not alone.

Kambo can help strip the armor from our well-defended hearts,
Letting those hidden pieces come alive inside;
To be felt, seen, tasted, touched…
To know and be known unto ourselves.

When we stop blocking the pain, we can move it OUT of our system…we can be free.

The kambo journey slices through static, and take you to the core,
To FEEL what’s really there
To be with ourselves
Inside of intensity…

Let our beautifully active minds
Be quieted;
Submerging us into a wordless ocean.
Where emotions and thoughts
Disentangle,
Somatic frameworks
Break wide open…
Until all that’s left
Is vibration.

You, at your purest essence.

Here we breathe with the aching…
Rather than stuffing it away in secret caves:
Through logic, analysis or any other perfectly curated distractions.

We stand in truth
To ourselves
And for the heart of human nature.

Because warrior’s are willing to do the hard thing
For the wellbeing of the tribe.
We will go to the ends of the earth to find strength when no one else can…
We are destined to stand fully in our hearts
And spread it like wildfire.
This is why we’re here,
This is what we came for.
